Greetings, Blazer’s Edge Readers and Portland Trail Blazers Fans.
Our drive to send 2000 underprivileged youth and children to see Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers face Joel Embiid and the Sixers on March 9th is nearing its close. Friday is the deadline to donate tickets. At this time, we are several hundred short of our goal.
We’ve shared stories of teachers and classrooms transformed by the chance to see the Blazers play. We’ve told you of foster families bonded, of coaches rewarding their players, of counselors and shelters getting to send a special someone whose life has taken a bad turn. This event, these gifts, make a difference.
We can only send as many kids as we have tickets for. We’ll always say yes to as many as possible but we’d love to make it the full 2000. It changes the entire Moda Center when the upper deck is stuffed with young fans cheering their hearts out, wide-eyed at the scoreboard and hardwood floor, let alone every positive play that happens for the Blazers.
This is a chance to do something good. This is a chance to uplift the Blazers and help create the next generation of fans. All we can do now, in the final hours, is let you know and hope you can help.
If you’ve already given and can squeeze in one more ticket or two, please do. If you haven’t given and have been waiting to see if your gift is needed, now would be the time. Either way, can you please share this post and the cause among all your friends and associates?
Donation information is just below. If you’d like a little swag in exchange for your gift, you can get Blazer’s Edge socks from Hoopswagg and they’ll donate a ticket for you for each pair purchased. That information is farther down.
TO DONATE DIRECTLY, READ HERE
If you prefer to donate the old-fashioned way, the info is right here. Whether you do it with socks or without, PLEASE help us out.
Tickets can be purchased online by going to the Blazers’ website through this link: http://www.rosequarter.com/blazersedge/
Use the order code: BLAZERSEDGE
Tickets are automatically donated if you purchase them in this manner.
If you don’t wish to order online, you may call ticket rep Alec Botts at 503.963.3926.
IF YOU WANT SWAG AS YOU DONATE, READ HERE
In the spirit of the event, our friends at HoopSwagg.com have done something incredible. They’ve created Blazer’s Edge Socks. No, not Portland Trail Blazers socks, actual BLAZER’S EDGE SOCKS. Now you can rep your favorite website under your kicks and be one of the cool kids! But there’s more than that.
FOR EVERY PAIR OF SOCKS YOU BUY, HOOPSWAGG.COM WILL DONATE A TICKET.
WHAT’S MORE, THE BLAZER’S EDGE STAFF WILL MATCH THE FIRST 50 PURCHASES, SOCK FOR SOCK AND TICKET FOR TICKET. We’ll give away those extra socks to readers.
So here’s what you’re going to get with your purchase:
- A pair of socks for you
- A ticket donated to kids
- A second pair of socks given away to fellow readers
- A second ticket donated to kids
That could not be cooler!
Head over there and check out our site socks, buy a pair or two, and help kids see the Blazers all at the same time!
If you work with underprivileged children or youth, the process for requesting tickets is greatly simplified this year. Email me at blazersub@gmail.com for details. We’re eager to help you see a game!
