Review: Adidas Damian Lillard Dame 3 Shoes

If you’re a Portland Trail Blazers fan, you’ve probably been roped into the realm of sneaker purchases outside of your needs on the court thanks to Damian Lillard, adidas, and the D Lillard / Dame signature shoe line.

Lillard dropped his latest shoe — now called the Dame 3 — with big parties and to much fanfare about the continued escalation in quality of his signature line.

Today we’re doing something special, something we haven’t done in a while, but it’s time for our sneaker review segment.

I’m excited about the Dame 3 for a couple reasons.

First, because I think Lillard is slowly taking the top dog spot for adidas. That big new contract is just one indicator that I think they will continue putting resources into his line to continue to making it better both visually and in quality.

Second, the D Lillard 2 took such a big leap over the D Lillard 1, and I think they’ve somehow done the same with this one. Adidas wanted me to check this one out, so they sent me this press pair.

Upon initial review, here’s where I land on this shoe:

Pro:

• Traction
• Bounce cushioning
• Details and quality
• Aesthetics
• Lacing system
• Fuse mesh

Con:

• Narrowness
• Bootie / collar / 1 piece upper continues to be dumb
• 3 Stripes on toe a little out of place
