The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to send Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas, and a second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Trevor Booker, Zach Lowe of ESPN reports.

Okafor, 21, was selected by the 76ers with the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft but was considered a poor fit for the team as a more traditional center. He was quickly replaced by Joel Embiid who has since earned acclaim as the center of the future. Okafor has the opportunity for a fresh start his career sorely needs.

Booker will immediately bolster the 76ers frontcourt, playing behind sophomore Dario Saric and alongside veteran Amir Johnson.

Last season, David Aldridge of TNT reported that the Portland Trail Blazers and 76ers were close to a deal to move Okafor before the Trail Blazers acquired center Jusuf Nurkic from the Denver Nuggets instead. This exchange between Philadelphia and Brooklyn should put lingering rumors of potential interest to bed.
