Portland Trail Blazers rookie Caleb Swanigan, the 26th overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft, has been assigned to the Canton Charge of the NBA G-League, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports:
Portland plans to assign rookie Caleb Swanigan to the G-League Canton Charge beginning on Tuesday, league source tells ESPN.

The Charge are an affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Swanigan was assigned to them via the NBA’s flexible assignment rule, for teams that don’t have their own affiliate. After a strong start this season, the forward has seen just two appearances in December, logging a total of five minutes on the month. The idea of Swanigan visiting G-League had already been floated in the media recently.
In 15 total appearances this season, including three starts, the 2017 26th pick from Purdue has averaged 2.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in just under nine minutes a game.
