Is Trail Blazers Head Coach Terry Stotts on the Hot Seat?

Sean Deveney of Sporting News mentioned the Blazers’ Terry Stotts as a coach that might be feeling the heat.

The Trail Blazers are in the midst of a five-game losing streak, and head coach Terry Stotts could be feeling the heat as a result. With its record hovering at .500, Portland is in jeopardy of losing ground in the competitive Western Conference. Sean Deveney of Sporting News analyzed the coaches that might be on the hot seat, and Stotts’ name appeared in an unsavory position on his list.

Deveney placed Stotts in his “warming up” category—reserved for coaches who could be facing increased pressure if current trends continue. Deveney explained Stotts’ placement with the following:

Stotts has done a good job with the Blazers roster, but should the team’s losing streak blossom into a full-fledged freefall — with a five-game road trip underway, that’s a danger — he could find himself in some trouble.

The Blazers’ schedule won’t get any easier for Stotts, as they play their next four games on the road before returning home to play the San Antonio Spurs.

Stotts has record of 236-200 since taking over Portland’s head coaching job prior to the 2012-13 season.
