Meyers Leonard, who sprained his right ankle during practice back on October 25th, is close to making his return to the Portland Trail Blazers, as reported by The Oregonian’s Mike Richman. Leonard is hoping to return in within a week.
"Tomorrow I'm going to do an individual offensive workout, a skills workout," he said Tuesday night following the Blazers loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. "Hopefully introduce some jumping and stuff off my right leg, more explosive movements. Then just continue to progress. Hopefully play one on one (Thursday). Hopefully in the next five to seven days I'll be cleared."
Leonard was initially slated to miss 4-6 weeks due to the injury. In two games played this season, he is averaging 5.5 points and three rebounds. He last appeared October 24th against the New Orleans Pelicans.
