Damian Lillard’s Comprehensive Buzzer-Beater Video Compilation

An impressive look at all the times Portland’s star point guard has vanquished opponents at the last second.

Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is known for a few things: rising from relative obscurity out of Weber State, becoming a charismatic spokesman for Adidas and State Farm, a burgeoning rap career, and being one of those NBA players opponents do not want to see with the ball in his hands, down two, with five seconds left.

Following yet another last-second dagger propelling the Blazers over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, Lillard’s buzzer-beating proclivities were chronicled this week by Twitter’s @NBAHistory in this video retrospective.

As it turns out, you can stuff a lot of overtime and victory pushes into 41 seconds of highlights. Have the Blazers ever fielded a player who stepped up bigger in this particular type of moment? And this is only his sixth year in the league. By the time Lillard’s career is over, buzzer-beaters may become his enduring legacy.
