Streaming Trail Blazers games becomes a reality today as NBC Sports announces “Blazers Pass”, a package allowing viewers within the Blazers blackout area to stream broadcasts even if they don’t have access to NBC Sports Northwest via cable. The pass covers 15 games. Opponents include the Golden State Warriors twice, the Los Angeles Lakers twice, the Houston Rockets, and the Boston Celtics. The price to stream 15 games is $34.99, with a 10% discount for purchases made by December 1st. The package commences on December 11th as the Blazers face the Warriors.
Here’s a handy guide to determine whether this news affects you:
If you currently access games through NBC Sports Northwest you’re already able to see the 15 games that Blazers Pass offers, either through traditional broadcast or streaming TV Everywhere.
If you live outside of the Blazers broadcast territory you cannot stream games through Blazers Pass.
If you live inside Blazers broadcast territory and cannot or do not subscribe to NBC Sports Northwest this package will allow you to watch 15 games. If you’re not sure whether or not you’re in Portland’s market/blackout area the Blazers Pass purchase page will tell you.
The package will stream via the following platforms: Apple iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast and online at NBCSportsGold.com
In short, those of you who have remained without any access to local Blazers games since the former-Comcast deal went through—and who no doubt miss KGW broadcasts—now have a partial solution to your dilemma.
