Lin joins Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward, who suffered a brutal ankle injury, and Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic, victim of an intra-squad practice fight, on the list of recognizable players suffering serious setbacks in the first days of the new NBA season.
Lin averaged 14.5 points and 5.1 assists in 36 games for the Nets last year.
