Time for another early game. The Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers play at 4:00 pm PST today. Blazer fans are probably not all that excited about the game, after Portland sleepwalked through two ugly losses to open their four-game road trip. And Philly is quickly improving behind the elite play of center Joel Embiid. On the other hand, it gives them a chance to see one of their great hopes, center Nerlens Noel, rumored to be on the trading block.

LATE UPDATE: Blazers coach Terry Stotts unexpectedly changed the starting lineup after two straight blowouts.

Ed Davis is expected to return from injury today, so the Blazers will be as close to full-strength as they can be.

Philadelphia was the home of the late, great Jim Croce, who died in a plane crash prior to the release of one of his biggest albums. Here was the title track of that album, the wonderful “I Got A Name”.

And here’s “Operator”.

Also a rare request from my wife, who felt it wasn’t appropriate to have a game in Philly without posting this song from a well known local artist.
