Another road trip begins! After a few days off, the Portland Trail Blazers visit the Nation’s Capital, to play an Martin Luther King Day afternoon tilt against the Washington Wizards.

Both Moe Harkless and Ed Davis are questionable for tonight’s contest.

Before talking about a musical artist who hails from the city without a state, let’s do a callback to Friday night’s game against Orlando. Discussing Orlando’s Sister Hazel, I mentioned that they “disappeared after one hit”. The band kindly reminded me that I could not be more wrong!

Glad to see they’re doing well. Keep up the good work!

We’re going to stick in the ‘90s for our DC artist. This era saw a fresh rise of female alternative artists, and one of the forebearers was DC-born Tori Amos. Her first big solo single, Silent All These Years, led to her relevance in the alternate scene for most of the decade. She’s probably best known for her Alternative Rock anthem, God. I couldn’t decide between two songs, so here is both, “Cornflake Girl” and “A Sorta Fairytale”.

Much like Sister Hazel, she’s also still active and making albums. Keep it up, Tori!
