The Portland Trail Blazers may make a 2-year, $40M offer to Pau Gasol, accoring to ESPN's Marc Stein:
Following up on that @ramonashelburne tweet: Lots of noise out there about Portland putting a two-year, $40 million offer down to Pau Gasol.

Alex Kennedy reported yesterday that the Blazers were preparing a "large offer" to Gasol. With the salary cap skyrocketing, lifting NBA players' salaries with it, $20m for a 35-year-old big may be the new normal. To Gasol's credit and despite his age, he's been an All-Star the last two years, averaging 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.0 blocks last season.
Not everyone is a fan of the potential move:
37.5 million a year for Pau Gasol and Evan Turner, in any market, ever, is a lot. Like a LOT.

ESPN's Marc J. Spears claims the Minnesota Timberwolves are also vying for Gasol's services:
T-Wolves made aggressive 2-year offer to free agent Pau Gasol to reunite him with coach Thibs, source said. Keep eye on Blazers & Spurs, too

You can use this handy salary calculator to figure out how much room the Blazers have left: add in Evan Turner for $16.4m and Gasol for $20m and see how the numbers change.
