Austin Rivers Agrees to Re-Sign With Los Angeles Clippers

The Trail Blazers were rumored to have interest in Rivers.

Free agent combo-guard Austin Rivers has agreed to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on a 3-year deal, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Portland Trail Blazers had previously been connected to Rivers, as had the New York Knicks.

The contract is reportedly worth $35 million over those three years, with a player option included for the final season. Rivers averaged only 8.9 points and 1.5 assists per game during the 2015-16 NBA season, but captured public attention with a strong performance in the NBA Playoffs, starting in place of the injured Chris Paul.
