UPDATE 6:18pm: ESPN's Ramona Shelburne claims the Blazers remain in the hunt for Gasol:
Portland remains very much in the hunt for Pau Gasol even after the Evan Turner signing today, per league... https://t.co/ehWcu0r9Jx— Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) July 2, 2016
After signing free agent swingman Evan Turner, the Portland Trail Blazers have refocused their attention on pursuing Pau Gasol, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski:
Portland isn't finished with its high-profile pursuits in free agency. The Blazers made an aggressive offer to free agent Pau Gasol on Friday, league sources said. They're one of several contenders trying to sign the six-time All-Star forward, who played the past two seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
Gasol, 35, may be available at a low price, but after missing on Chandler Parsons and likely Dwight Howard, the Trail Blazers can offer him quite a bit of money if they so choose, potentially giving them a leg up.
Gasol averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists during the 2015-16 NBA season.
