Portland isn't finished with its high-profile pursuits in free agency. The Blazers made an aggressive offer to free agent Pau Gasol on Friday, league sources said. They're one of several contenders trying to sign the six-time All-Star forward, who played the past two seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
The Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs are also rumored to hold interest.
Gasol, 35, may be available at a low price, but after missing on Chandler Parsons and likely Dwight Howard, the Trail Blazers can offer him quite a bit of money if they so choose, potentially giving them a leg up.
Gasol averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists during the 2015-16 NBA season.
