Dwight Howard reportedly made a "strong connection" during his meeting with the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. Howard is still slated to meet with the Boston Celtics in New York and two other teams in Las Vegas. Accompanying reports that the Portland Trail Blazers intend to pursue both Howard and free agent forward Chandler Parsons, it is heavily speculated that the Trail Blazers are one of the teams scheduled to meet with Howard in vegas.
Atlanta Hawks and free agent Dwight Howard made a strong connection in meeting today, sources tell @TheVertical. There's traction there.

The Hawks could potentially sign Howard as a replacement for unrestricted free agent center Al Horford, should Horford elect to sign elsewhere. However, Horford has always been more of an out-of-position power forward than anything else, and the two of them would certainly make a formidable frontcourt if Horford is re-signed and the money is right.
