The Hassan Whiteside saga continues as Adrian Wojnarowski of the vertical tweets that the Dallas Mavericks are now the favorite to sign Miami Heat free agent center Hassan Whiteside.

Earlier reports claimed that Whiteside has narrowed his choices to Miami, Dallas, and the Portland Trail Blazers, all of whom have been rumored to have meetings with him as the NBA Free Agency period opens at midnight, Eastern Time tonight. One rumor said that Miami was "scrambling" to meet with him. Another claimed the Blazers had an early meeting with him.
After averaging 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game last season for the Heat, Whiteside is expected to be one of the most coveted free agents of the July signing period.
