UPDATE (1:00 PM): Contrary to previous reports, Hassan Whiteside will not meet with the Lakers, according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders. Whiteside reportedly still plans to meet with the Mavs and Blazers tomorrow, and has already met with the Heat.

UPDATE (11:47 AM): Despite earlier reports that the Blazers and Lakers have scored meetings with Hassan Whiteside, The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Whiteside is leaning toward signing with the Mavericks or Heat.
Sources: As 12:01 AM nears, free agent Hassan Whiteside's focus is centered on Miami and Dallas. Decision could come quickly on July 1.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 30, 2016
Wallace reports that Whiteside will also meet with the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers soon after the league lifts its ban on teams contacting free agents at midnight EDT tonight. Whiteside previously met with Pat Riley and the Miami Heat, his current team.
Regarding the free agent process, Whiteside said the following:
"I hope it's an easy decision," said Whiteside, who finished third in NBA Defensive Player of the Year voting and ranked in the top five in blocks, rebounds and field goal percentage last season. "I find it flattering because in my past I was trying to call teams [for tryouts]. Now it's the other way around."
It was previously reported that Whiteside hoped to make a decision by the end of the day on July 1.
Whiteside, the NBA's reigning blocks leader, is reportedly Portland's top free agent target this summer. They will need to renounce free agents Brian Roberts, Chris Kaman, and one of Gerald Henderson, Meyers Leonard, or Maurice Harkless to match the maximum offer that the Mavs are reportedly set to make.
