The Portland Trail Blazers have shown no interest in free agent center Ian Mahinmi, according to Jason quick of CSNNW:
Cross another free agent off the Blazers' radar (at least in early going): Agent for center Ian Mahinmi says Portland has not shown interest
— Jason Quick (@jwquick) June 30, 2016
Mahinmi, nearly 30, experienced the best season of his 8-year NBA career as a first time starter in the Pacers' muddled frontcourt rotation, averaging career highs in points (9.3) and rebounds (7.1) in just 25.6 minutes per game. His strong defense in the wake of Roy Hibbert contributed to the Pacers' overall success, despite losing to the Toronto Raptors in a competitive first-round series.
The Trail Blazers are in the hunt for a premier big man, and will likely pursue players like Hassan Whiteside, Dwight Howard, and Al Horford, before considering the perceived next tier of Festus Ezeli, Bismack Biyombo, and Mahinmi.
