Chris Fetters of Dawgman.com is reporting that former Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Brandon Roy has become the head basketball coach at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle.

When contacted by Dawgman.com to confirm or deny reports that Brandon Roy had taken the job at Nathan Hale, Roy said 'Yup, it's true'.

Fetters also speculates that Roy may have some high-profile players next year.

Rumors have circulated that the sons of new Washington assistant coach Michael Porter, Sr., including 2017 top target Michael, Jr. and 2018 Washington commit Jontay, will enroll his sons at Hale starting in the fall, but there has been no confirmation of any moves by the family at this time.

Roy played for the Trail Blazers between 2006-2011. He averaged 18.8 points per game during a 6-year NBA career cut short by injury. Roy was named to the NBA All-Star team three times. This is his first formal coaching position.
