Jay Triano Joins Phoenix Suns as Associate Head Coach

The Blazers' season of over-achievement has their coaching staff in demand across the NBA.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of TheVertical, Trail Blazers assistant coach Jay Triano has left the organization to join the Earl Watson's staff with the Phoenix Suns as associate head coach.

Triano joined the Trail Blazers in 2012 alongside head coach Terry Stotts, and helped guide the Trail Blazers to  the playoffs in three of the next four seasons. Alongside his coaching duties for the Suns, Triano still remains the head coach for the Canadian men's national basketball team.

The Blazers have not yet announced whether they will bring someone in to fill Triano's role, promote from within, or leave the position open. Triano is the second Blazers assistant coach to draw interest from other teams around the league, assistant coach Nate Tibbetts interviewed with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this week for their head coaching vacancy.
