Meyers Leonard underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder this morning, and will be sidelined for the next 6-8 months, the Portland Trail Blazers announced on Twitter. Leonard dislocated his shoulder in practice on March 16. He previously dislocated the same shoulder in a game against the San Antonio Spurs on November 11.

This timetable places Leonard’s return between October and December, after his future with the team has been determined in free agency. He averaged 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds in 61 games this season, shooting an impressive 37.7 percent from three as an oversized stretch four.
