Lakers Fire Byron Scott

Adrian Wojnarowski of TheVertical reports that L.A. is saying goodbye to the coach who was supposed to lead the franchise back to glory.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Adrian Wojnarowski of TheVertical is reporting that the Los Angeles Lakers have fired head coach Byron Scott.

Once introduced as a throwback to the glory era of the Lakers franchise, Scott coached the team with a 38-126 record during two seasons including a dismal 17-65 performance this year.

In an article for Yahoo Sports Wojnarowski writes:

Possible candidates to replace Scott could include Golden State assistant Luke Walton, former Rockets and Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy, UConn coach Kevin Ollie and San Antonio Spurs assistant Ettore Messina.
