Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical tweets that former Portland Trail Blazers guard Earl Watson will become the head coach of the Phoenix Suns.

Watson's NBA career spanned from 2001-2014. He played for seven different teams, including the Trail Blazers in 2013-14, his final season in the league.
Watson took over for former Suns coach Jeff Hornacek during the 50th game of the 2015-16 season after Hornacek was dismissed. Phoenix earned a 23-59 record overall; 9 wins and 24 losses during Watson's tenure.
