ESPN's Justin Verrier is reporting that New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis will not play again this season.
Anthony Davis will miss the remainder of the season, New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said Sunday.
A sore left knee kept Davis from playing in the second half of Friday's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, and Gentry revealed Saturday that Davis also has been dealing with a shoulder injury. Davis will undergo surgery, Gentry said, but didn't specify for which injury.
Despite lofty expectations entering the season, the Pelicans have languished with a 25-43 record, victims of multiple injuries and adjusting to a new system under Head Coach Alvin Gentry. Davis joins Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, and Quincy Pondexter on New Orleans' injury list.
