Kendrick Perkins of the New Orleans Pelicans was ejected in the fourth quarter of Friday night's contest against the Portland Trail Blazers after a clothesline-like swipe across the chest and head of guard Damian Lillard.
The game had been in Portland's control throughout most of the night, however the Blazers were in the midst of a cold period leading up to the foul, and they went downright frigid after this incident. The Blazers didn't make a shot from the field for over four minutes, so perhaps Perkins' physical play served the Pelicans well.
Perkins had just been involved in tussle with Mason Plumlee a few moments earlier that lead to Perkins trailing Plumlee up the floor talking to him. Immediately following that incident, Perkins committed the flagrant foul on Lillard.
