Donate To Blazer’s Edge Kids Night!

Each year, the Blazers’ Edge community comes together to send thousands of local disadvantaged children to see the Blazers. Help us make it happen this year!

NBA: Denver Nuggets at Portland Trail Blazers Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve all experienced stress, fear, and intense dialogue in the last few weeks. Sometimes it seems the world is going crazy and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.

We haven’t got the solution to set the whole world right, but we do have something you can do. Every year Blazer’s Edge sends underprivileged children, youth, and the people who work with them to a Portland Trail Blazers game free of charge. We ask nothing from them. We give tickets to small groups, athletic clubs, classrooms, sometimes entire schools. Last year we topped 2000 kids sent. This year we’re looking to equal and exceed that feat.

Most of these kids would have no means to attend a game otherwise. They certainly wouldn’t be going with peers and the adults in their lives. This experience gives them something to look forward to. It provides connections between them and a community that most of us take for granted. It bonds teachers, counselors, coaches, and kids in a new way. The adults get to be the fun folks, providing transportation and a night out with the tickets we give them. On top of that, a night at Moda Center creates and nurtures the next generation of Trail Blazers fans. the arena gets crazy with that many “can’t believe it, out of their minds” in attendance. Every time a huge cheer rolls out of the upper deck, you get the feeling of knowing you helped make the moment happen.

We want to say “yes” to as many of the teachers, principals, social workers, and team leaders as we can this year. Will you help us create more than 2000 stories in a single night? It’s easy to do.

This year’s Blazer’s Edge Night comes on March 9th, 2017 as Damian Lillard and the Blazers face Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76’ers.

Tickets can be purchased through the Blazers’ normal online ordering system by going to their website through this link: http://www.rosequarter.com/blazersedge/

Use the order code: BLAZERSEDGE

TICKETS ARE AUTOMATICALLY DONATED IF YOU PURCHASE THEM IN THIS MANNER.

Deadline for ordering tickets is February 3rd, but we hope to have them ready before then.

If you work with underprivileged children or youth, the process for requesting tickets is greatly simplified this year. Email me at blazersub@gmail.com for details and spread the word that we’re eager to help folks see a game!

Thank you for making this event a success year after year. Thousands of young folks have experienced the lights, sounds, and action of Trail Blazers basketball because of you. We’re all looking forward to making this another amazing year for the youth and children of our community.
