Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu (calf strain) will be re-evaluated in a couple weeks, according to Mike Richman of The Oregonian. Aminu suffered the injury against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, saying after the game that he would take things “day-to-day.” He did not suit up against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
In Aminu’s absence, Noah Vonleh slid into the starting power forward spot, which may or may not be the norm going forward. Regardless of how head coach Terry Stotts fills the position, expect an uptick in minutes from Ed Davis and Meyers Leonard as well.
Aminu is typically billed as the strongest defender on the roster, so this comes as a blow to a team that has been struggling on that end.
