Meyers Leonard (shoulder) has progressed to playing 5-on-5 in practice, according to Trail Blazers digital reporter Casey Holdahl. This is consistent with the schedule Leonard laid out prior to the first week of training camp, where he participated in 3-on-3 drills.
As expected, @MeyersLeonard11 is playing 5-on-5 as media is let into the gym. Guessing he's cleared for all activities.— Casey Holdahl (@CHold) October 8, 2016
As Leonard continues to show that he is strong and healthy, head coach Terry Stotts expects him to play in one of the Trail Blazers’ preseason games next week. This means that the earliest we could see him in action is Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers or Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers, barring an unforeseen setback.

Leonard, 24, averaged 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds last season. He re-signed with the Trail Blazers on a four-year deal this summer and is expected to be an important part of their frontcourt rotation in 2016-17.
