During the past few months a number of reports have indicated that former Portland Trail Blazers point guard Steve Blake was training in Portland and looking for a new team.

It seems the reports were true, except Blake will be taking his talents south, way south, to Australia to play for the Sydney Kings in the NBL, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Blake will play under Australian basketball legend Andrew Gaze who was a member of the San Antonio Spurs 1999 championship team.

The NBL has attracted a number of ex-NBA players in recent years including Al Harrington, Johnny Flynn, Josh Childress, and local Patty Mills for a period.

Blake played for Portland from 2005-06, 2007-10, and again for the 2014-15 season, with career averages of 6.5 points and 4.0 assists per game.
