The Portland Trail Blazers just couldn’t keep up with the Denver Nuggets over four quarters, meekly falling. The Blazers were without Damian Lillard in the second half for unknown reasons.
The Blazers were led by CJ McCollum’s 20 points and 4 assists, and Al-Farouq Aminu’s 18 points and 4 rebounds. Mason Plumlee finished with a double-double. Moe Harkless started out nicely, but fizzled out. Evan Turner had another quiet night.
The big men spent the whole night in foul trouble, and Ed Davis fouled out before the end of the third quarter.
The Blazers have a few nights off, and seem to need them. They’ll play Wednesday night against the Jazz in Utah.
UPDATE: The Blazers’ Casey Holdahl reports that Terry Stotts simply chose to rest Lillard in the second half.
Stotts said post game the plan going into tonight's game was to rest @Dame_Lillard in the second half
