Here is a great example of the shrewd deals and value that Neil Olshey can find : Ed Davis and Tristan Thompson are excellent comparisons. They are similar in age and playing style (hustle / defense / rebounding type players). The BIG difference is that Ed Davis recently signed a 3 yr - $20mill contract , whereas the Cleveland Cavaliers have already offered (Thompson still negotiating for more) a 5yr - $80 mill contract. Let's look if this is justified or not.

Overall Ed Davis has the better stats almost unanimously of the two. He is a better rebounder, shooting percentage, and creates more steals ( both of their calling cards). This is a very impressive signing by Neil Olshey that shows the franchise is in good hands.
