The Nigerian national basketball squad has won the 2015 Afrobasket tournament, beating Angola 74-65 and earning a bid in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Leading Nigeria is Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu. Aminu shot 2-10 in the title game but scored 11 in the process. Aminu averaged 12 points on 38.5% shooting with 5.4 rebounds in 25 minutes per game for the tournament.
