We're going to do an extensive Mailbag on Thursday but I'm pressed for time tonight so we're going to culminate the first half of the 2015 off-season by asking a question that's floated beneath the surface all summer.
You've seen the roster turn over this year. You know what it means in terms of wins and losses but also in terms of future possibilities. Weighing in any and all factors you care to consider, let us know your answer to this question:
Assuming your choice could affect the roster, would you prefer to go forward with Portland's former core of LaMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard, Wesley Matthews, Nicolas Batum, Robin Lopez, and incremental improvement off the bench or do you prefer the new-look team? Which one floats your boat more?
Give us your answer in the comment section below and let us know your reasoning. If you like the old lineup, how would you foresee the next 5 years going? You'd still have CJ McCollum and Meyeres Leonard coming off the bench. Would that plus a couple veterans be enough? If you like the new roster, how will you process the likely loss of wins in the short term? How soon, if ever, will the new rotation equal or exceed the former one?
We've talked around the edges of this issue for more than a month now, but here it is explicitly for your final review. Would the Blazers have been better off going forward with old guys or new? Let us know.
