LaMarcus Aldridge Finishes 7th in MVP Voting

The Trail Blazers forward gets votes for League MVP.

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Portland Trail Blazers finished their season in disappointing fashion, falling to the Memphis Grizzlies 1-4 in the first round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs. That didn't stop league voters from appreciating Portland's star player, LaMarcus Aldridge, in the MVP voting. The response was small: a single 4th-place vote and three 5th-place nominations. This was enough to place Aldridge 7th in the voting.

Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry won this year's MVP, receiving 100 out of a possible 130 first-place votes. Houston Rockets guard James Harden finished second with 25 first-place votes, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James third with 5.

Aldridge's votes were worth 6 points in the final tally compared to 1,198 for Curry.
