The Portland Trail Blazers have announced that forward LaMarcus Aldridge had successful thumb surgery this morning.

Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge underwent successful surgery today to repair the injured radial collateral ligament of his left thumb. Dr. Thomas J. Graham performed the procedure at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Aldridge is expected to be able to return basketball activity in approximately eight weeks.
Aldridge injured his thumb on January 19th versus the Sacramento Kings. He missed games on January 21st and 22nd before opting to delay surgery and rejoin his team. He averaged 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds for the Blazers during the regular season, 21.8 points and 11.2 rebounds in the playoffs.
