Boston media talking heads A. Sherrod Blakely, Kyle Draper, and Jimmy Toscano got together for an episode of CelticsTalkTV to discuss the prospects of the Boston Celtics in this year's free agency market. Two current Portland Trail Blazers figured prominently in the discussion: shooting guard Wesley Matthews and power forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
Blakely claims a "60-65% chance" that Matthews will be a Celtic next year. Toscano upped the ante to 75%. Then again, Blakely also said there's a 70% chance that Boston will land Detroit Pistons forward Greg Monroe. So far we're up to about a billion percent.
In a separate video with the same theme, Blakely drops the bombshell that the Celtics have a "35-40% chance" of landing Aldridge and will actively seek to land both Portland players.
At this point the Portland Trail Blazers are hearing the equivalent of Barney Rubble saying, "Hey there Lane, I know this is a little awkward me being a cartoon and all, I was just wondering how you'd feel if I took Beth out!"
