Conley's face was injured during this tangle with Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum in Game 3 of the Blazers-Grizzlies series. The Grizzlies lead Portland 3-0 in the best-of-seven matchup.
Though wrapping up the series is important, the Grizzlies will be thrust into their second-round matchup with the Golden State Warriors upon vanquishing the Blazers. With a 3-game cushion in hand, it may be to their advantage to let Conley heal as much as possible before that.
Conley has averaged 16 ppg on 50% shooting against Portland in the playoffs.
Update: Conley will undergo facial surgery on Monday.
