Damian Lillard Named Western Conference Player of the Week

26 points and 3 wins over 3 games push Portland's guard over the top.

Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Sports

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has been named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week.

This is the second time Lillard has been so honored. He won the award in mid-November.

Lillard averaged 26 points on 49% shooting this week, 50% from the three-point arc, with 5 rebounds and 6 assist.

Per the Trail Blazers' press release, with his 546th career three-pointer at Sacramento, Lillard set a new NBA record for most three-pointers in his first three seasons, a mark previously held by Golden State's Klay Thompson.

Boston's Isaiah Thomas is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
