Joel Freeland Suspended for Headbutt

An incident 1 minute from the end of Portland's last game costs Freeland the chance to play the next 48.

The NBA has announced that Portland Trail Blazers forward-center Joel Freeland has been suspended for one game for a headbutting incident with Detroit Pistons forward Shawne Williams during the fourth quarter of Portland's 118-99 victory over Detroit on Friday night.

The Trail Blazers will face the Toronto Raptors on Sunday without Freeland. He has played in 34 games this season but appeared only twice in Portland's last 5 outings, totaling 5 minutes in those 2 games.
