Damian Lillard Sums Up His All-Star Snub Reaction in 16 Seconds

Portland's star point guard shares his philosophy regarding getting passed over in a Facebook video.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard shared his reaction to getting snubbed for this year's All-Star Game on Facebook yesterday. Posted under the Adidas banner, Lillard's update read, "When you get overlooked, there are two things you can do. Which one do you choose?" He then proceeded to answer in this compact, 16-second soliloquy.

You can look at this video as a smart twist, wringing marketing juice out of an otherwise-negative event. After all, Lillard's losing out on plenty of exposure by missing All-Star weekend in New York. (Though frankly he's been just as talked about as most of the actual All-Star nominees over the last few days.) But the sentiment is consistent with the philosophy Lillard has espoused ever since clawing his way to prominence from relatively-obscure Weber State. Adidas has done a fine job of distilling Dame and offering him undiluted. Whether he's victorious or on a quest for redemption, people are still going to buy what Lillard is selling. And not just the shoes, either.
