Trail Blazers May Be Close to Arron Afflalo Deal

First rounder may buy the Blazers a new shooting guard. But will he come from Denver or Los Angeles?

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN's Marc Stein tweets the following:

Afflalo has been connected to the Blazers via rumor since the trade season swung into full gear. He's playing 33 mpg for the Nuggets this year with a 14.5 scoring average on 43% from the field, 34% from the three-point arc. Afflalo will make between $7.8-7.9 million this season and next but the second year is a player option.

Update: This CBSSports.com article has the Los Angeles Clippers fishing for a Denver guard, needing a first-round pick to dangle in trade, and offering Jamal Crawford in return. Could the Blazers become the facilitator in that deal?

Crawford is playing 27 mpg for the Clippers this year, shooting 39% from the field and 33% from the arc, scoring 16 per game.
