Phoenix Suns Guy Throws Down the Gauntlet to Portland Trail Blazers Fans

New, comments

A Suns supporter thinks his team will beat the Trail Blazers on Friday and is willing to support a charity cause to prove it.

Godofredo Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Update: Here are the totals as of 4:20. on Friday. We've had quite an influx!

Phoenix fans have put 50 tickets on the line for tonight's game.

Portland fans have put 43 tickets on the line.

Whichever team wins, the other side buys tickets for Blazer's Edge night.

Blazer's Edge readers, can we even out the score by tip-off? Maybe we'll get more Phoenix folks to put up tickets. Read details of the challenge below and step up in the comment section!

Hey, Dave and Blazer's Edge Readers

Seth Pollack here, of Phoenix Suns and SBNation NBA fame. I read the other day that you've kicked off the fund raising for this year's Blazer's Edge Night. Once again, I'm impressed with the tremendous and generous response from BEdge Readers! You folks have set the standard for all of SB Nation and really all of the NBA blogosphere. The children of Portland are lucky you have their back. It's only too bad that you can't send them to a Suns game instead. I kid! Well, sort of.

I couldn't help but notice that my Suns have been doing pretty well against your Blazers this season. Like 2-0 well. Like games weren't even close well. Like Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight making everybody forget the second highest scoring guard duo in the league well. When the Blazers play the Suns the most famous Who is still Cindy Lou, but Damian runs a close second, amirite?

That's why I feel pretty confident putting up a little wager with the Blazer's Edge readership. I'll put 10 tickets for Blazer's Edge Night kids on the line Friday night. Will Blazer's Edge readers match or exceed that total? If the Blazers win, I'll donate those tickets to your event. If the Suns win, you guys donate the tickets you bet against me. I'd also be willing to make a couple single-ticket prop bets if you come up with any in the comment section of this post. Bledsoe or Lillard scoring more? McCollum vs. Knight? Chandler or Plumlee getting tagged with more fouls? Get creative if you want. I'm game.

I don't want to strut around too much because I really do respect what you do, but this seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass up. Anybody in against me?

I don't know about you, but I think I'm good for 2 tickets to put up against Seth. Letting Suns Fan talk smack to you is only a half step away to letting Lakers Fan do it. Can't have that.
