As reported by Mavs.com beat writer Earl K. Sneed, former Portland Trail Blazer Wesley Matthews will lay down his bow and arrow during tonight’s first return to the Moda Center as a Maverick – out of respect to the Portland faithful.
Wesley Matthews says he won't do his arrow celebrating in Portland, where it originated. He has too much respect for the Blazers' fans.

The unique 3-point celebration was created and made famous by the shooting guard and Portland fan favorite during the 2014-15 season. His success from long range led to him being selected in the Three-Point Contest at the 2015 All-Star Weekend.
During his five seasons in Portland, Matthews averaged 39.4 per cent from the 3-point line.
He signed a max four-year $70 million contract with the Mavericks in July this year – just four months after rupturing his left Achilles Tendon in a game against Dallas.
Since suffering the injury, Matthews has worked tirelessly to be ready for the start of the 2015-16 season, which many considered to be ahead of schedule.
