Still recovering from off-season hip surgery, Gerald Henderson has yet to make his Blazer debut, but fans can get an inside look at the seventh-year shooting guard on his recently created blog at GeraldHendersonJr.sportsblog.com.
In Henderson's first post entitled "The NBA Life: Perception vs. Reality", he outlines what fans may fail to consider about the lives of NBA players and the dedication required to be a professional athlete.
Here is an excerpt from the post, which was published on Nov. 6.
The long flights, the practices, the conditioning, the lifting, the scouting reports…all of the important things that go into the game before we actually play. Just like a 9 to 5 job, where there are meetings, deadlines and projects, there are a number of pressures that come into play before and after each game.
Henderson delves specifically into a few of those pressure in the remainder of the post.
According to Jason Quick of CSNNW, Henderson is nearing a return to the court. He has been ruled out of Sunday's home contest against the Detroit Pistons, which is scheduled to tip off at 6:00 p.m. PST.
Further updates on Henderson's health will be provided upon availability.
