With Sunday's announcement from Kobe Bryant that he will retire at the end of the season, several Portland Trail Blazers spoke about their memories of the Lakers icon.
One of the brightest and most recent was an exchange between Bryant and Blazers forward Luis Montero, highlighted by Mike Richman of The Oregonian. According to Bryant: "We were playing Portland and a kid from the bench said something to me like, 'We're going to beat you guys tonight.' And I looked at him and I said, 'I got one rule. If you weren't born when I started playing, you can't talk trash. It's a simple rule.'"
Montero recalls: "I was like, 'Oh okay, sir. And then everybody (on the Blazers bench) was laughing like, 'What the hell are you doing?' I didn't say anything."
CJ McCollum and Ed Davis also spoke about Bryant and his contributions to the game. Read their reactions to the news in Richman's full article, here.
