Week five of the Fantasy Basketball season begins on Monday November 23rd. This should be the week when you begin looking at your roster more closely and start to determine who is helping, who is hurting and act accordingly. I have some waiver wire options this week that I think might help you win your weekly matchup.....so let's get after it!
Teams with four games this week are the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards.
The Chicago Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers each have two games this week while everyone else has three games on the NBA schedule for week five.
Week Five Waiver Wire Options
Dennis Schroder PG Atlanta Hawks: The Hawks have 4 games this week and over his past 5 games Schroder is averaging 12.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 7 assists and 1 three pointer on 28 minutes a game. His shooting percentages aren't very good but he does a lot of things right including a steal or two per week so he might be worthy of a roster spot this week. Schroder is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Jamal Crawford SG Los Angeles Clippers: Crawford has been hot lately and with all the Clippers' injuries of late has been getting 31 minutes over his last five games. During this span he's averaging 18 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds while knocking down just over 1 triple a night, Good shooting percentages straight across the board and with 4 games this week Crawford might be able to help you out. Crawford is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Robert Covington SF PF Philadelphia 76ers: Covington has had a run of bad luck with injuries that has limited him to just three games this season. His numbers are small as is his playing time but the dude can shoot threes and it's only a matter of time until he starts playing more than 25 minutes a night. When he does and he starts going off from behind the arc you'll be lucky that you grabbed him because he won't be available in over 70 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues for very long.
Jerryd Bayless PG Milwaukee Bucks: Over the past 5 games Bayless has averaged 14.6 points, 3.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds and just over 1 steal on 31.8 minutes per night. His shooting percentages are outstanding and with him knocking down almost 3 triples a night and with 4 games this week Bayless might win your three point category all by himself. Bayless is currently available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Langston Galloway PG SG New York Knicks: Over his past 5 games Galloway has done a little bit of everything; he scores (10 pts), rebounds (3.4), assists (2.4) and grabs 1 steal a night. His shooting percentages are exceptional and with 4 games this week Galloway might be a good add for your roto league or a solid deeper league option. Galloway is available in just over 70 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Omri Casspi SF Sacramento Kings: Over his past 5 games Casspi has been getting it done for the Kings averaging 10.4 points and 5.8 rebounds including 1 triple in 27 minutes a night. His field goal percentage is good at 42 percent but the other percentages will kill you in a roto league. Casspi is a deep league option and possibly a streaming option this week and is available in 85 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
T.J. McConnell PG Philadelphia 76ers: The 76ers might not be very good but McConnell has been and over his past 5 games is averaging 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5 assists in 29 minutes a night for the hapless 76ers. Great shooting from the field and from behind the arc but the dude doesn't get to the line at all. No matter, and with 4 games this week McConnell is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues and might be a good add.
Good luck this week Fantasy Basketball owner!
