All the talk around the Portland Trail Blazers during training camp involves player development and not necessarily wins. As it turns out, a top-tier sportsbook is taking the same approach.
According to Bovada, an online gambling and sports betting website, the Blazers' over/under win total this season was placed at 26.5, tied for second-worst in the NBA. Portland is dealocked with Minnesota. Only Philadelphia's number is lower at 21.5.
The Northwest Division goes as follows:
- Oklahoma City Thunder: 56.5
- Utah Jazz: 41.5
- Denver Nuggets: 27.5
- Minnesota Timberwolves: 26.5
- Portland Trail Blazers: 26.5
As a point of clarification, these over/under win totals are created to give an equal amount of "action" on both sides. This means that, for Bovada, their goal is to get 50% of betters to guess the Blazers win 27 games or more, while the other 50% predicts Portland wins 26 games or less.
So, what do you think? Can the Blazers go above and win 27+ games, or will they sputter under to 26 or less? Answer in the poll below! And, while you're at it, make sure to comment whether you think the 26.5 number is fair.
