Cliff Alexander (knee) missed the Portland Trail Blazers’ season opener while recovering from a bone bruise that he sustained in training camp on October 2. The injury has hampered him for longer than expected, and it sounds like it will continue to do so. Fox Sports’ Jay Allen reports that Alexander suffered a setback on Tuesday and may require surgery on that troublesome left knee.

It is important to note that this is not the knee that he injured during predraft workouts in June. How he aggravated this most recent injury is yet unknown. More updates to come as the story develops.
