Where Do the Portland Trail Blazers Stand Entering the Season?

On the eve of Portland's season opener Blazer's Edge readers predict the number of wins the Trail Blazers will garner and which team's they'll actually be better than.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Ladies and gentlemen, after a long and tumultuous summer we've finally made it! We stand on the brink of a new season for the Portland Trail Blazers. Today marks the opening of the 2015-16 campaign for the NBA as a whole and the eve of Portland's opening game.

Over the next 48 hours we're going to celebrate the event in a couple ways. We'll chronicle (and maybe spur) the building excitement throughout today then shift into harder analysis of Game 1 and the season as a whole tomorrow.

Right away I'd like to announce that we'll be holding a Live Open Chat over the noon hour right here today. Join us to ask or talk about anything you wish relating to the Blazers or the new season.

We'll also be bringing you any and all news that breaks between now and the start of the season.

Plus we have a special surprise coming after lunch today. Don't miss that one!

But while we're waiting for that, here's the first of several poll questions to gauge your feelings on the new year. Right off the bat we want to know...

1. How many wins will the Blazers finish with this season?

2. Which Western Conference teams do you think the Blazers will be better than.

We'd be honored if you'd share your responses in the comment section.

Happy Season's Eve to all! Welcome to the new campaign!
