Damian Lillard Injury Update: Will Play Vs. Utah Jazz

Lillard, who has been sidelined with ankle soreness for half of Portland's preseason, will make his return to game action on October 18.

Damian Lillard has missed two preseason games in the last week, after tweaking his ankle against the Golden State Warriors on October 8. During that time, he has dealt with minor ankle soreness. He could certainly get away with sitting out a while longer if he really wanted to. After all, this is preseason. However, Lillard informed reporters on Thursday afternoon that he is feeling good and intends to return to action against the Utah Jazz on October 18.

Per Cody Sharrett

"I feel good," Lillard told reporters on Thursday. "The last few days I’ve been practicing full practice, so it’s alright.

"I’m definitely playing Sunday."

Despite shooting woes, Lillard is averaging 19.5 points per game through two contests so far. Rejoining his teammates could help him establish the rhythm he has been missing, as well as help the team as a whole get a better feel for how the team will function when the regular season arrives.
